Good news and not so good news. Nancy's N/G tube was removed this morning and this made her feel better All values continue to improve but her bilirubin has increased. This may be a sign of rejection. A biopsy is scheduled fot the am. If organ rejection is occuring more potent drugs may be necessary. We were hoping to have Nancy home for Thanksgiving but not so sure now.

Keep hanging in there. They just have to find the right amount of meds to balance out the body's natural inclination to reject something foreign. Even if it takes awhile, they will ease her off them eventually! I'm sure having the NG tube out helped her feel more comfortable! Thinking of and praying for you all!
I am glad to hear you are feeling better , at least on the outside. Who woulda thought the pharmacist would be your new best friend! We will anxiously await the results of the biopsy. Of course you are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. Consider yourself surrounded by LOVE!!!!

Everyone says the same thing "Hang in there". I have sat in your chair Joe and I know how hard it is to sit and watch it all and not do much. But it's true, just hang in there. Aimée had a mild rejection around week 1 and they played w/ the meds and them BAM it all started to come together. In the long run I was glad they started low and had room to move w/ the meds. Good luck and I hope that you guys can have a good Thanksgiving.

We are praying harder than ever. Sorry we missed your call. We will anxiously await the results of the biopsy, but are so glad to hear that the NG tube is out so Nancy can be more comfortable. Thanksgiving this year, whether at home or still in the hospital, is full of blessings because of Nancy's new liver.
Our thoughts, prayers, and hearts are with you both and your extended family.
